Yavilah McCoy- Extended Biographical Sketch
Yavilah Mccoy is a Teacher, Writer, Editor and
Diversity Consultant. She was raised in the Flatbush and Crown Heights areas
of Brooklyn, New York where she received her Yeshivah education at both Bais
Rivkah and Yeshivah University High School. Mrs. McCoy holds a degree in
English Education and Judaic Studies and has taught Judaic Studies, Hebrew
Language and English Literature on elementary and secondary levels over the
past ten years. In addition to serving the Jewish community as an educator,
Yavilah has also served as a member of the board of directors for the
Anti-Defamation League, Jewish Family and Children’s Services, Hadassah,
Jewish Community Relations Council, and the St. Louis Jewish Light. Yavilah
is a trained facilitator for the Anti Defamation League’s “A World of
Difference” Program, NCCJ’s Dismantling Racism Institute and the National
Coalition Building Institute of Washington, DC. She is currently the founder
and director of AYECHA, a national, not-for-profit, whose mission is to
provide training and educational resources that build greater sensitivity
toward difference in the Jewish community. Yavilah is married to Dr. Pinchas
McCoy and resides in St. Louis, Missouri with her husband and three
children, Atarah Yocheved, Yair Moshe, and Yonatan Nechemya.

Yavilah McCoy is the founder and director of the AYECHA
Resource Organization, a New York based, national not-for-profit, whose
mission is to provide training and educational resources for building
greater sensitivity toward difference in the Jewish community. Yavilah has a
background in both Jewish Education and Corporate Diversity Consulting and
currently resides in St. Louis, MO with her husband and three children Dr.
Pinchas McCoy, Atarah Yocheved, Yair Moshe, and Yonatan Nechemya.
